Adult Tennis Programs/Schedules

SPECIAL POPS Tennis of Savannah conducts free instructional clinics eighteen Saturdays a year between 2:00pm and 3:30pm at The Landings Club Tennis Center on Skidaway Island -- an official training site for adaptive tennis. Previous tennis experience is not required; enthusiasm is.

To establish consistency and monitor progress, a given coach works with specific individuals each week.

Each clinic concludes with actual play by skill level, ranging from short-court "unified" doubles (where athletes and instructors are paired for match play) to 60-foot and then to full-court singles and doubles. All participating players become members of Special Olympics of Georgia, and can compete in adaptive tennis tournaments.

A St. Joseph's/Candler Hospital wellness and nutrional program precedes each Saturday clinic.

Many of our athletes travel and compete in adaptive tennis tournements in several cities within Georgia as well as several states. Transportation and lodging are provided by Special Pops Tennis Savannah.
